Blackspotted Puffer The primary defense of puffers is to hope you don't see them. They'll hold very still until you're right on top of them. Their secondary defense is the ability to blow themselved up to a point where swallowing whole becomes impossible. Their last line of defense is more of a "neener, neener" as they are highly toxic eating. This particular species of puffer is frequently photographed as it looks just like a puppy.
