Bobbit Worm The stuff of nightmares. This nocturnal carnivore hunts by sensing pressure in one of it's five antenna and can lunge half its length with such speed and ferocity that it can cut a fish or finger in half. The four pincers lock on to their prey and the worm instantly drags the victim down into the sand for consumption. A reversible pharynx is lined with razor-sharp mandibles. Adults range in length from 3 to 9 feet, although all you'll see at the surface is its jaws. The shimmering metallic iridescence is, in person, truly striking. Named for Lorena Bobbitt. Known to attack divers.
