Yep, sure was one BIG budda. The "museums" are advertised as, "Local textile manufacturing demonstration" (selling cheap polyester print shirts and sarongs) or "Gems and jewelry exposition" (selling low-grade gems, often just colored glass.) or "Cultural Center" (selling ultra-cheap sub-standard tourist fare trinkets.) Once you've been in-country a while, you start to see the same "unique", "hand crafted" and "one-of-a-kind" trinkets everywhere.
