This was one BIG budda. At the same time, it was one of the least impressive sights of the trip. The place radiated the word, "so." Maybe I just needed to know more about the history; but I would be embarrassed if this was my primary place of worship. There were, much to our Tuk Tuk driver's delight, many "museums" nearby. Each "museum" he took us to gave him a token for gas if we stayed longer than 5 minutes looking at the sale items. If you don't like high-pressure salesmen and hyper-inflated prices, offer to pay the driver to *not* take you to these tourist traps.
