Mimic Octopus Here, our mimic goes into one of its most common poses, that of a flounder. In this picture it looks pretty distinctive but for us watching it underwater, it really did look just like a flounder with its body flattened down and its eyes sticking up, and it even swam like a flounder would. At another point, it made its body into a long, narrow cylinder and looked just like an eel out hunting, although we didn't get a picture of that pose.
