Spotted Garden Eel

These little eels imitate sea grass swaying in the current. They're easy to distinguish from real sea grass as they move out of unison and when there isn't any current. Normally they mass retreat smoothly back into the sand when approached within 15 feet. If you're slow and patient, and don't make any threatening movements, you can get pretty close. They're about the width of a pencil.
