Closeup Soft Coral

Soft coral, such as this, was very prevalent in Thailand and Burma. Soft coral feeds by filtering the water and therefore needs a current to sustain. It is firmly anchored and, unless it is exposed for too long to air or buried by silt and debris, will survive a tsunami intact.
