View of the river from our hotel room. Bangkok is built on the banks of the Chaophraya River and one of the easiest ways to get around is to jump on an express boat and take a ride. For 20baht ($0.50) you can ride the entire length of Bangkok, a 1.5 hr ride. As you can see from this picture, reports of air pollution in Bangkok are not exaggerated. It is far worse than LA, but otherwise, the city is quite clean.
