Leaf Scorpionfish

Leaf fish immitate dead leaves laying on the sea floor. You can often spot them by looking for detritis that is moving back and forth with the flow of the water when there is no flow in the water. This one appears reddish purple here because of the artificial light provided by the strobe, but at that depth (about 40 ft.) most of the red is gone from the spectrum and the leaf fish appears to be dark mottled grey.
