Basket star

This is a relative of the sea star. In the day, it coils itself up into a small ball, often encorporating a gorgonian for defense. At night, however, it uncoils into this huge plankton filtering machine, constantly coiling and uncoiling it's arms to scape the critters into it's stomach. At around 5 ft. in diameter, this must be a true monster to the nearby plankton (the specks in the water.)
